Pet ECG – Paws and Claws Medical Center – Miami, FL
An electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG), is a test that records the electrical activity of the heart. It is used to detect and locate the source of heart problems.
A Pet ECG shows how fast the heart is beating, the heart’s rhythm (steady or irregular), and it records the strength and timing of the electrical signals as they pass through each part of the heart. It also records the strength and timing of the electrical signals as they pass through each part of the heart.
At our Hospital we monitor the ECG to all patients that undergo any procedure that requires anesthesia, emergency patients that due to their condition might have failure or inefficiency of their cardiac function.
We have access to cardiologists through a novel technology called tele-medicine that allows us to send a reading of an ECG to be studied for abnormalities and if needed, refer our patient to a cardiologist for a detailed study.
